It's Groovey to Vote — a New Campus Program for Voter Awareness and Support
Post-primary update — August 5, 2026: The August 4 primary is over. Our Michigan Election Guide now includes reported primary results, November matchups, and the next voting dates. Results remain unofficial until certified by election officials.
The Groove Community Campus has a new program, and it arrives right on time: It's Groovey to Vote, our voter awareness and support initiative, launches today at groovedetroit.org/vote — nine days before Michigan's primary election on Tuesday, August 4.
Democracy is neighborhood infrastructure, the same as the Cornerstone, the CashFlow Quadrant, and every brick on Dexter Avenue. When Wildemere Park, Jamison, and Petoskey-Otsego show up at the polls, the West Side gets heard — on blight, on safety, on schools, on the transit and millage questions that decide what our streets look like next year.
What the program does
It's Groovey to Vote stands on three commitments:
- Awareness — a clear, nonpartisan Michigan Election Guide covering primary results and the November 3 general election: registration rules, early voting, absentee ballots, statewide races, local ballot proposals, and a live election news monitor.
- Access — hands-on help with registration checks, absentee ballot requests, and voting plans at the CashFlow Quadrant, 7404 Dexter Avenue.
- Turnout — get-out-the-vote organizing with community partners, faith institutions, and the League of Women Voters, building on the chapter's long-running voter engagement work.
The next dates that matter
- Early voting for the general election runs Saturday, October 24 through Sunday, November 1. Local schedules and sites vary.
- General Election Day is Tuesday, November 3 — polls open 7 AM to 8 PM.
- Not registered? In Michigan you can register in person at your city clerk's office through Election Day with proof of residency.
Check your registration, find your polling place, or request an absentee ballot at the Michigan Voter Information Center, or start at our guide: groovedetroit.org/vote.
It's Groovey to Vote is independent and nonpartisan — we inform and support voters; we do not endorse parties, candidates, or campaigns.
See you at the polls. It's Groovey to Vote.
