How the Work Gets Done

Standing Committees

Executive Committee

Members: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and All Directors

Responsibilities: Plans the annual calendar, oversees property management, and handles administrative matters between General Body meetings.

By-Laws Committee

Members: One Director, President, Assistant Secretary, and at least 2 additional members

Responsibilities: Proposes and reviews amendments to chapter by-laws, ensuring organizational governance maintains integrity and addresses emerging needs.

Finance Committee

Members: One Director, Treasurer, and at least 2 additional members

Responsibilities: Researches financial matters, proposes dues structures, develops fundraising strategies, and ensures responsible financial management.

Public Relations Committee

Members: One Director, one Executive committee member, and at least 2 additional members

Responsibilities: Manages public communications, civic affairs, community relations, and media engagement. Represents chapter at external events and partnerships.

Social Affairs Committee

Members: One Director, one Executive committee member, and at least 2 additional members

Responsibilities: Plans social events, fellowship activities, and member gatherings. Fosters brotherhood and strengthens bonds among members.

Advisory Committee

Members: Chapter advisors and liaisons to undergraduate chapters

Responsibilities: Provides guidance and support to undergraduate chapters in Michigan. Reports to General Body meetings on undergraduate chapter activities and needs.

Robert's Rules of Order

Our meetings are conducted using Robert's Rules of Order, ensuring fair, democratic, and orderly decision-making processes.

Elections

One-Year Terms

All officers serve one-year terms, elected annually. This ensures regular renewal of leadership and accountability to the membership.

Authority

General Body Authority

Ultimate authority rests with the General Body. All major decisions are made democratically with member participation and approval.

Who We Are

Membership Categories

Active Members

Full voting members who actively participate in chapter affairs, pay dues, and contribute to the organization's mission and activities.

Special Active Members

Members with special status, such as those who have relocated or have limited participation but maintain involvement and good standing.

Visiting Brothers

Members visiting from other chapters who participate in chapter activities while maintaining membership with their home chapter.

MIG (Membership in Good Standing)

Status granted to members who meet all chapter requirements and maintain good standing with the organization.
